All Our Coaches Are Vaccinated!

UPDATE: As of 20th September, 2021, all Footie First coaches have been fully vaccinated.

It’s been a hard couple of months with second coronavirus wave ravaging India, but the silver lining that is emerging is the increasing availability of vaccines for everyone aged 18 years and above. At Footie First, we are happy to let you know that we have got ALL our coaches, staff and their families vaccinated to ensure the safety of our children when they come back to training.

Conducted with the support of Vedanta Trust and in partnership with Tata Memorial Hospital, the Footie First COVID vaccination drive was open to all football coaches from Mumbai. While those who could afford to did pay and contribute to support the initiative, there were several more who were vaccinated for free. Faced with huge losses in income due to the lockdown, we felt it was important to help fellow sports coaches take the first step in the long road to recovery – even if they weren’t coaches at our football coaching academy. In such trying times, it was the right moment to set competition and zero-sum thinking aside and work for the greater good.

Phase 1 of our vaccination drive was conducted over 3 days and covered 75 people. It is an insignificant number in the larger scheme of things, but if more of us come together to make sure as many people as possible get their COVID vaccine, it will be a huge boost in beating this virus. For now, all we can do is take maximum precautions, maintain high levels of hygiene and avoid crowded spaces, especially indoor.

Football coaching has also resumed now and our vaccinated crew is ready to welcome kids back to playgrounds. Children have been cooped up at home for too long with unhealthy amounts of screen time. Football gives them the opportunity to get much-needed exercise, fresh air and sunlight (some rain too!) – all while having a great time! So if you and/or your child are ready to get back to football, please do write back or call 9819337766 or 9819227766 right away. #WeLoveFootball
